Traumatic Brain Injury Representation

Brain injuries are devastating events for the people and families they affect.  They are terrifying and painful even to think about.  But when a traumatic brain injury (TBI) hits you or someone you love, there is no time to wonder what to do next.  Contact Neil Chapman, Attorney at Law in Evansville, IN.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tell us that 1.4 million Americans suffer TBI each year.  What the CDC does not report is how many of those injuries were caused by the wrongful action or the negligence of another party.  I am an experienced personal injury lawyer who has handled many TBI cases, including those that occurred as a result of—

  • Car accidents
  • Assault
  • Falls
  • Falling objects
  • Construction accidents
  • Sports injuries
  • Oxygen deprivation (hypoxia)
  • Stroke
  • Toxic exposure
  • Deceleration injury
  • Tumor
  • Infection

Sudden trauma to the head may be an obvious reason to see a doctor.  But some brain injuries are only evident after several symptoms begin to show themselves.  These symptoms range from mild to very serious:

Mild to moderate Moderate to serious
  • Headache
  • Confusion
  • Lightheadedness
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision or tired eyes
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Bad taste in the mouth
  • Fatigue or lethargy
  • A change in sleep patterns
  • Behavioral or mood changes
  • Trouble with memory
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Poor attention
  • Problems thinking
  • Worsening headache
  • Repeated vomiting or nausea
  • Convulsions or seizures
  • An inability to awaken from sleep
  • Dilation of one or both pupils of the eyes
  • Slurred speech
  • Weakness or numbness in the extremities
  • Loss of coordination
  • Increased confusion
  • Increased restlessness
  • Increased agitation

Injured in Indiana?  You need Neil.

If you or a loved one shows any of the above symptoms, seek medical treatment.  If the initial head injury was a result of an intentional act of harm, reckless behavior, malpractice, or negligence, call my office as soon as possible.  I can help you get compensation for your medical and rehabilitation expenses, and hold accountable the party at fault for the injury.
